BIMP-EAGA Summit

Highest decision-making body, comprising Heads of Government from the four member countries. Convenes periodically to provide strategic direction and political commitment.

Role: Set vision, approve major initiatives, mobilize resources

Ministerial Meeting

Comprises Ministers responsible for BIMP-EAGA affairs from each member country. Meets annually to review progress, endorse action plans, and address policy issues.

Role: Policy coordination, program approval, resource allocation

Senior Officials Meeting (SOM)

Senior government officials meet regularly to oversee implementation, coordinate sectoral activities, and prepare recommendations for Ministerial approval.

Role: Implementation oversight, inter-agency coordination, problem-solving

Sectoral Working Groups

Technical working groups focus on specific sectors such as connectivity, tourism, agriculture, environment, and trade. They develop action plans and implement projects.

BIMP-EAGA Facilitation Centre

Based in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, the Facilitation Centre serves as the secretariat, providing administrative support, coordination, research, and communication services.

Role: Secretariat services, knowledge management, stakeholder liaison, project support

BIMP-EAGA actively engages diverse stakeholders to ensure inclusive participation and leverage complementary strengths across sectors.

Private Sector

Business councils and chambers of commerce participate in policy dialogue and investment promotion activities.
